Armor of Mara senaPainted few other depictions taken from Mara sena references all of them of warriors with strap armor. but in addition to that you find many paintings of warriors wearing what may best be interpreted as leather and chain-mail armor, this painting is of the Mara senaga of the Sinhala armies showing them in all three types of dress - they clearly belonged to the elite military units of probably the 16-17th centuries. - Though I do not know what name they were called; In my mind they would always be the "samurai' of the SInhala armies4’x3’ft.
